Industrial electrician

Both companies are based in the same office in Amsterdam with clients and projects across the Netherlands. Depening on your nationality – you work either for TecLine (EU) or SkilledPeople (non EU).

For one of our Dutch clients we are looking for a Lead Technician Energy & Industry E&I, with the prospect of a permanent contract. The company is a leading contractor in the Energy & Industry sector, delivering complex projects for grid operators, industrial clients, and energy producers. By combining technical expertise with innovation and close collaboration, they develop safe, sustainable, and future-ready solutions.

In this role, you work across the full region of Amsterdam (Provence Utrecht, Flevoland and Noord-Holland) for industrial- and energy clients, carrying out installation, replacement, cable works, maintenance, inspections, and switching operations. You work at various locations, ensuring safe, structured, and high-quality execution in line with NEN3140, VIAG/BEI and VCA safety procedures. You communicate professionally with colleagues, subcontractors, and clients. You will work in a team but also independently and train less experienced colleagues on the job.

This is a hands-on technical role in a highly safety-critical environment, with opportunities to grow toward high-voltage specializations or office-based roles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform installation, replacement, and maintenance work on LV, MV and HV installations
• Execute cable works (including joints, connections, and splicing) for LV, MV and HV installations
• Perform inspections, testing, and commissioning of switchgear installations
• Handle fault repairs and planned/unplanned maintenance activities
• Work in accordance with VIAG, BEI, and permit-to-work procedures
• Collaborate with project leaders, planners, and colleagues on safe execution
• Document activities and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems
• Coach and train colleagues

 

REQUIREMENTS

• Educated and qualified as an electrician (Dutch requirement MBO 3 and willing to complete MBO 4)
• At least 4 years working as an electrician, with experience in industrial and / or energy networks electrician
• You enjoy coaching / teaching less experienced colleagues
• Experience with LV/MV installations, cable technology, or grid operations, interest in HV installations
• NEN3140, VIAG/BEI, VCA, or willingness to obtain the certificates
• Strong focus on safety, quality, and structured working
• Ability to work both independently and in teams
• Good communication skills in Dutch or English. If only English, willing to learn Dutch short term (requirement because of safety issues)
• Valid driver’s license (B) and living in or willing to relocate to the Amsterdam region
